Getting the word out unfortunately costs money – lawn signs, literature, event food, mailings…
Fortunately Northampton has a city ordinance which halves Massachusetts donation limits, putting the emphasis on modest donations from ordinary people.
Contribution rules for Northampton Municipal Elections
- Maximum donation $500 in a calendar year
- Even small donations are welcome!
- Limit is per person and applies separately to spouses
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card) – this is Federal Law
- Must be physically present in the US when making a donation
- Must be making a donation from ones own funds not those provided by another
- Donations from corporations are prohibited
Currently my committee is only able to accept donations by check.

Please include a note with your legal name and address, as well as occupation, and employer
(Occupation/Employer information is required when donations total more than $200 in a year)
